About

This is a community package of ZenNotes, maintained independently.

ZenNotes is a keyboard-first, local-first Markdown notes app: a folder-based vault with Vim motions, wiki links and tags, tasks and daily notes, KaTeX math and JSXGraph/Mermaid diagrams, fuzzy search, and MCP integration. Your notes are plain Markdown files on disk.

Permissions: by default this package keeps a tight sandbox — network (for MCP and update checks), display and notifications. A new vault lives inside the sandbox, and notes opened or saved elsewhere go through the file portal. To keep a vault anywhere under your home directory, enable the optional capability with "flatpak override":

  • Open and keep an existing notes vault outside the sandbox: flatpak override --user --filesystem=home org.zennotes.ZenNotes
