About
OpenPLC Editor is an integrated development environment for creating PLC programs using IEC 61131-3 languages, including Ladder Diagram, Function Block Diagram and Structured Text. Create projects, compile programs and connect to OpenPLC runtimes over the network.
OpenPLC Runtime runs separately and can be deployed in a Docker or Podman container. See the official OpenPLC Runtime documentation for setup and connection instructions.
This community package uses the official upstream AppImage unmodified. Updates are delivered by Flatpak.
Optional access can be enabled for hardware and existing Arduino libraries:
- Serial and USB devices:
flatpak override --user --device=all com.autonomylogic.openplceditor - Read existing Arduino sketchbook libraries:
flatpak override --user --filesystem=~/Arduino:ro com.autonomylogic.openplceditor - Undo these overrides:
flatpak override --user --reset com.autonomylogic.openplceditor
