About
This is a community package of Trae CN, maintained independently and unaffiliated with ByteDance. It repackages the official upstream Linux Debian build unmodified.
Trae CN is an AI IDE built on the VS Code editor: it keeps the extensions, themes and keybindings you already know, and adds AI-assisted coding on top, from inline completions to agent tasks that plan and edit across multiple files, with project context built from your codebase.
- Ask for a change in natural language and let the agent edit the files it needs.
- Keep the VS Code extensions, themes and keybindings you already use.
- Open a workspace straight from a
*.code-workspacefile or atrae-cn:link.
Permissions: this package grants network, display, GPU, audio, notifications, keyring access and your home directory. An IDE is pointed at source trees wherever they already live, and Trae CN keeps its settings, extensions and CLI state in ~/.trae-cn, so the home grant is what makes the editor, the integrated terminal and the agent agree on what a path means. To narrow it to one tree instead:
flatpak override --user --nofilesystem=home --filesystem=~/Projects com.bytedance.TraeCN
Updates come through Flatpak: this package tracks upstream's own version API, so a new upstream build arrives with flatpak update. Trae CN's built-in updater stays switched off here, the same way it is in the Debian build this package repackages.
