About
This is a community package of Dopamine, maintained independently. It repackages the official upstream build unmodified.
Dopamine is an audio player that tries to make organizing and listening to music as simple and pretty as possible. It indexes the folders you choose and lets you browse by artist, album, genre, folder and playlist.
- Plays MP3, FLAC, OGG, M4A, OPUS and WAV.
- Edits tags and album artwork.
- Shows artist information and lyrics, and can scrobble to Last.fm and ListenBrainz.
- Themes, a compact mini player and Discord rich presence.
The package can read and write your Music directory, which is where it looks for your collection and where tag edits are saved. It can play audio, expose media controls over MPRIS and show a tray icon, and it has network access for artist information and scrobbling.
To index music stored elsewhere, grant that location: flatpak override --user --filesystem=/path/to/music com.digimezzo.dopamine. Discord rich presence needs Discord's local socket: flatpak override --user --filesystem=xdg-run/discord-ipc-0 com.digimezzo.dopamine. Remove custom grants with flatpak override --user --reset com.digimezzo.dopamine.
Updates come through Flatpak. If the application says a new release is available, update with Flatpak instead of downloading it.
