UpNote

This is a community package of UpNote, maintained independently and unaffiliated with UpNote Pte. Ltd. It repackages the official Linux Debian package unmodified.

UpNote is a note app for long-form writing: notes live in notebooks that nest as deeply as you like, and the editor mixes rich text with Markdown shortcuts.

• Nested notebooks, tags, links between notes and full-text search.
• Rich text editing with Markdown input, code blocks, tables, attachments and math.
• Focus mode, themes and a light or dark appearance.
• Import from Evernote, Apple Notes, Bear and Simplenote; export to Markdown, HTML, PDF or text.
• Sign in to sync notes with the other UpNote apps. Sync and some editing features are part of UpNote Premium, a paid subscription from the developer.

Permissions: this package grants network access for sign-in and sync, display and GPU access, notifications and a tray icon. Your home directory is not visible to it — notes are kept in the app's own data directory under ~/.var/app/com.getupnote.UpNote, and import and export go through the file chooser portal, which hands the app one file or folder at a time.

If you would rather give it a directory of its own — to keep exports somewhere fixed, or to reach a folder of files you import from often — grant that one directory yourself:

flatpak override --user --filesystem=~/Notes com.getupnote.UpNote

Review or undo what you have granted with "flatpak override --user --show com.getupnote.UpNote" and "flatpak override --user --reset com.getupnote.UpNote".
