About
This is a community package of ElyTree, maintained independently. It repackages the official upstream Linux build unmodified.
ElyTree is the Git client of Ely Office, a set of offline-first desktop apps written in Rust with GPUI. It carries its own Git and Git LFS, and connects to the network only when you fetch, pull, push or clone.
- Stage, unstage and discard by hunk or by line; discarding always asks first and lists what will be deleted
- History search, file history and blame; branches, merges, rebases and tags
- Force push shows the commits it will overwrite and refuses if the remote moved since your last fetch
- The reflog finds deleted branches; nothing is ever hard-reset
The package can read and write your home directory, so ElyTree can open repositories wherever you keep them and use your own Git configuration, SSH keys and signing keys. It reaches the network for fetch, pull, push and clone, and uses your ssh-agent and gpg-agent for credentials. Its own settings live in ~/.var/app/ely.zacharyzhang.office.tree.
To keep it to a single folder instead: flatpak override --user --nofilesystem=home --filesystem=~/Projects ely.zacharyzhang.office.tree. Undo with flatpak override --user --reset ely.zacharyzhang.office.tree.
In-app updates are left to Flatpak: new upstream releases arrive as Flatpak updates.
