About
This is a community package of OmaPhoto, maintained independently. It repackages the official upstream Linux build unmodified.
OmaPhoto is a layered image editor for Linux, made first for Omarchy, whose theme it follows. It is a port of Compositor, a macOS app by Wonder Assembly: it keeps Compositor's tools, menus and shortcuts, and reads and writes its .comp projects. OmaPhoto is independent of Wonder Assembly.
- Layers, folders, masks, clipping masks, blend modes and adjustment layers
- Marquee, lasso and magic wand selections, Select Subject and Remove Background, all offline
- Brush, healing, clone stamp, smudge, liquify, gradients, shapes and type
- Levels, Curves, Hue/Saturation and a docked Camera Raw Filter
- Imports JPEG, PNG, TIFF, HEIC, WebP, SVG, Photoshop files and camera RAW; exports PNG, JPEG and PDF
- A .comp project is a folder of PNG layers and a manifest, so scripts and AI agents can write one, and an open project updates live
OmaPhoto works fully offline and this package has no network access. It can read and write your Pictures, Documents and Downloads folders; the rest of your home folder is hidden, and the app's own file panels see only what the package can reach. A .comp project is a folder, so it has to live in one of those places. To open and save anywhere in your home folder: flatpak override --user --filesystem=home io.github.ZacharyZhang_NY.OmaPhoto. Undo with flatpak override --user --reset io.github.ZacharyZhang_NY.OmaPhoto.
On Omarchy, the package reads the current theme, read-only, so the window follows it.
