About
This is a community package of Animeko, maintained independently and unaffiliated with the Animeko project. It repackages the official upstream Linux AppImage unmodified — the app tree unpacked at install time, not rebuilt — and follows upstream releases automatically.
Animeko is an anime streaming client. It syncs your watch progress and collection with Bangumi, aggregates video sources including BitTorrent, Jellyfin and Emby, and overlays danmaku from several providers.
- Browse Bangumi's anime database, schedules, ratings and community comments.
- Search and play from aggregated sources, including BitTorrent, Jellyfin/Emby and custom sources.
- Danmaku overlay, offline caching, watch-together and a player built on mpv and FFmpeg.
- Cloud sync of watch progress through Bangumi, with automatic progress updates.
The interface runs on X11/XWayland, because the embedded JCEF browser and Java's AWT require it. The app reaches the network for Bangumi, anime sources, danmaku services, torrents and self-hosted Jellyfin/Emby servers; those are third-party services and using them is subject to their own terms. Offline downloads are stored in the app's data directory by default. Enable what you need with flatpak override:
- Save the offline cache in your Videos folder:
flatpak override --user --filesystem=xdg-videos me.him188.ani - Save it on an external drive:
flatpak override --user --filesystem=/path/to/media me.him188.ani - Undo all of these:
flatpak override --user --reset me.him188.ani
Updates are delivered by Flatpak; use flatpak update rather than the in-app updater.
