Simulate building energy consumption and water use
Copied! Paste it into a terminal and press Enter to install.
About
EnergyPlus models energy consumption and water use in buildings, including heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting and plug loads. EPLaunch provides a graphical interface for selecting models, weather files and simulation workflows.
This community package runs the official EnergyPlus Linux build unmodified. Separate Tcl/Tk libraries provide the EPLaunch interface.
After the first launch, close EPLaunch and open it again to select the bundled EnergyPlus simulation workflows.
Keep models, weather files and simulation results in Documents. EPLaunch uses its own file chooser. To work in another directory, use flatpak override --user --filesystem=/path/to/models net.energyplus.EnergyPlus. Undo overrides with flatpak override --user --reset net.energyplus.EnergyPlus.
For batch simulation, run flatpak run net.energyplus.EnergyPlus --help. Bundled examples and weather data are in /app/extra/energyplus inside the sandbox; copy models to Documents before running them.
Models, reports and folders open in your default desktop applications through the desktop portal. Custom viewer executable paths and external simulation tools must be available inside the sandbox; host-installed executable paths are unavailable.
