About

This is a community package of paint.js, maintained independently. It repackages the official upstream AppImage unmodified.

paint.js is an open source general-purpose raster graphics editor. It is inspired by the classic Paint.NET interface and provides a familiar desktop workspace on Linux.

Work with multiple documents and layers, zoom and pan around the canvas, and use selection, movement, drawing, color, and image-adjustment tools. A complete undo and redo history lets you experiment without losing earlier work. It opens and saves common raster formats as well as layered Paint.NET documents.

paint.js is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by dotPDN LLC or Paint.NET.

Permissions follow upstream's own Flatpak manifest. Images are opened and saved through the file chooser, so no folder is granted. Network access is used only to tell you when a new version is out; updates come through Flatpak.

To give it direct access to your Pictures folder instead of going through the file chooser, run flatpak override --user --filesystem=xdg-pictures net.paintjs.Paintjs. Remove that grant with flatpak override --user --reset net.paintjs.Paintjs.
