Telegram Drive

This is a community package of Telegram Drive, maintained independently. It repackages the official upstream Linux build unmodified. The source is public, but the project has not published a license yet.

Telegram Drive organizes the files you keep in Saved Messages and Telegram channels as a drive on your desktop. You sign in with your own Telegram account and API credentials; files go straight to Telegram, with no separate relay server.

• Folders backed by Telegram channels, with list and grid views, search, sorting and bulk actions.
• Durable upload and download queues with pause, resume, retry and bandwidth limits.
• Previews for images and PDFs, and playback for audio and video.
• Optional local encryption of uploads.
• Folder Sync, a loopback-only WebDAV server and a local REST API.

Every feature is free. The app shows sponsor placements, which an optional one-time supporter license from the developer removes.

The package has network access and no filesystem grant: settings, the local database and caches stay in the application's private per-app directory, the Telegram session is kept in the system keyring, and uploads and downloads go through the file chooser. Folder Sync watches a whole directory, which the file chooser cannot grant; to sync a folder, grant it first, for example flatpak override --user --filesystem=xdg-documents com.cameronamer.telegramdrive, and undo it with flatpak override --user --reset com.cameronamer.telegramdrive.

HEIC previews and video thumbnails use an FFmpeg installed on the host, which the sandbox cannot run; those files are shown without a preview. Updates come through Flatpak; if the application offers to install an update itself, update with Flatpak instead.
