ElyMark

This is a community package of ElyMark, maintained independently. It repackages the official upstream Linux build unmodified.

ElyMark is the Markdown editor of Ely Office, a set of offline-first desktop apps written in Rust with GPUI. It edits Markdown in place the way Typora does, with a source mode and a preview, and renders math with RaTeX and diagrams with mermaid-rs-renderer.

• Saves one second after you stop typing, for files that have a path

ElyMark works fully offline. The package shares the network only because opening a second file hands it to the window already open over a local connection. It can read and write your Documents and Downloads folders; other files are opened and saved through the file chooser, or from your file manager. Settings and recovery points live in ~/.var/app/ely.zacharyzhang.office.mark.

To open files anywhere in your home directory by path (for example pictures a Markdown file links to outside its own folder): flatpak override --user --filesystem=home ely.zacharyzhang.office.mark. Undo with flatpak override --user --reset ely.zacharyzhang.office.mark.

In-app updates are left to Flatpak: new upstream releases arrive as Flatpak updates.
