FieldCraft

This is a community package of FieldCraft, maintained independently and unaffiliated with the FieldCraft project. It repackages the official upstream Linux release build unmodified.

FieldCraft is an open-source CAE application written in Rust. Open a parametric SolidCraft part, mesh it, define the analysis, solve it and look at the results, with every capability checked against closed forms and published benchmarks.

• Tetrahedral meshing, and structured, multi-block and octree all-hex meshing
• Linear and nonlinear static, frequency, heat transfer, thermal stress and explicit dynamics
• Lattice Boltzmann flow with forces on the part's faces
• Abaqus, Nastran and LS-DYNA deck writers
• Every action is a command, scriptable from a CLI, a JSON control channel and an MCP server

The headless command runner and MCP server is included: flatpak run --command=fieldcraft-cli io.github.jyviko.fieldcraft --help

Permissions: display (Wayland, with X11 as a fallback), the GPU device, and the Documents folder. Files anywhere else are opened and saved through the system file chooser. No network access is granted, so the in-app update check, the optional anonymous usage sharing and bug reports do not reach the network; updates arrive through Flatpak.

Optional overrides:

• Allow network access (in-app update check, usage sharing if you turned it on, bug reports): flatpak override --user --share=network io.github.jyviko.fieldcraft
• Open files by path anywhere in your home folder: flatpak override --user --filesystem=home io.github.jyviko.fieldcraft
