Folo

This is a community package of Folo, maintained independently and unaffiliated with the Folo project. It repackages the official upstream AppImage unmodified — extracted at install time, not rebuilt — and follows upstream releases automatically.

Folo is an open-source feed reader that brings articles, social posts, pictures, videos and podcasts into a single timeline. It syncs through the Folo service, so subscriptions and read state follow you across devices.

• Subscribe to RSS and Atom feeds, and organise them into views for articles, social media, pictures, videos and audio.
• AI features: per-article summaries and translation.
• Actions and rules to filter, tag and rewrite incoming entries.
• Read it later, full-content fetching, and an integrated podcast player.

Signing in requires a Folo account; the reader also works with local subscriptions before you sign in.

Permissions: Folo runs with network access and its own sandboxed storage. It cannot reach your files by default. Enable what you need with flatpak override:

• Save images and enclosures straight to your Downloads folder: flatpak override --user --filesystem=xdg-download is.folo.Folo
• Import or export an OPML subscription list from anywhere in your home: flatpak override --user --filesystem=home is.folo.Folo
